Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers equipped with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Navigate using GPS systems to ensure timely and efficient route driving, including OTR routes and local deliveries.
- Transport freight safely across long distances, ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods or hazardous substances.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or truck loading equipment, ensuring proper securing of freight to prevent damage during transit.
- Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, verifying delivery details and obtaining signatures as proof of receipt.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, cargo manifests, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operation with manual transmission capabilities.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and transportation of hazardous materials or dangerous goods.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving and cargo handling.
- Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery schedules across local and OTR routes.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely while adhering to logistics cargo handling standards.
- Experience with delivery driving in various environments, demonstrating excellent time management and route optimization skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks required for truck loading/unloading and warehouse duties; capable of lifting heavy items safely.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
