Supervisor, Maintenance Training (BUS)
The Supervisor of Maintenance Training is responsible for overseeing the training and development of maintenance personnel within an organization. They design, implement, and evaluate training programs to ensure that maintenance staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job duties effectively. The Supervisor of Maintenance Training also collaborates with other departments to identify training needs, develop training materials, and deliver training sessions. They monitor the progress and performance of trainees, provide feedback, and make recommendations for improvement. Additionally, they may assist in the development of maintenance policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
Roles and Responsibilities

Supervises, audits and monitors the performance of assigned Maintenance Instructors to ensure that NJ TRANSIT's maintenance personnel are provided with effective training.
- Plans, researches, develops and revises maintenance training programs and courses including curriculum lab's and exams.
- Teaches all maintenance training courses as required.
- Coordinates, participates and monitors maintenance vendor training projects, including New Bus Purchase, support equipment purchases, and New Facilities Construction.
- Ensures that vendor maintenance training is up-to-date and is presented timely and thoroughly.
- Communicates with garage management, to validate maintenance training needs and objectives.
- Discuss student capabilities and counsel students.
- Supervises special and routine projects including train the trainer workshops and training aid upgrades.
- Plans and monitors inventory to ensure appropriate materials are available as needed; schedules Maintenance Instructor work. Performs classroom observations, prepares performance assessments, and counsels Maintenance Instructors.

Education, Experience and Qualifications
Education, Experience and Qualifications High School Diploma, or equivalent, and three (3) years of technical training.
Knowledge and Skills
-
Eight (8) years of experience in a diesel powered vehicle maintenance department, to include three (3) years of experience of maintenance instruction.
- Teaching experience must be in a formal structured curriculum and include research and development with lesson plan preparation.
- Microsoft office suite proficient.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- CDL class B with P endorsement, ASE certifications desired.
Working Environment
- Classroom, workshop and office.
Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 50Lbs, Stand for extended periods of time.

- May have to travel to garage locations as needed.
