Shegerian Conniff LLP is a growing California plaintiff-side employment law firm dedicated to protecting employees' rights and achieving outstanding results for our clients. We are seeking a talented and motivated Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 1+ years of employment litigation experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable managing a litigation caseload, possesses strong legal writing and advocacy skills, and is passionate about representing employees in complex workplace disputes. This position offers significant hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of employment litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and related employment claims.
- Draft and review demand letters, complaints, pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
- Handle all phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, law and motion practice, court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda.
- Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, mediations, and hearings.
- Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
- Maintain regular communication with clients while providing exceptional client service.
- Effectively manage deadlines and a busy caseload while maintaining organized case files.
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, trial briefs, and motions in limine.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum of 1 years of employment litigation experience.
- Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and mediation briefs.
- Experience taking or defending depositions and appearing in court is preferred.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management abilities.
- Ability to independently manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Passion for advocating on behalf of employees.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
