American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active GA or compact RN licensure.

Hospital ICU setting serving an adult to geriatric patient population
-
Patient diagnoses include hypertensive emergency, cardiogenic shock/heart failure, complex arrhythmias, unstable angina, GI bleed, esophageal perforation, drug overdose, mechanical ventilator support (invasive and non-invasive), pulmonary emboli with hemodynamic instability, respiratory failure, uncontrolled seizures, DKA, electrolyte imbalances, post-op patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, septic shock, and delirium tremens

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 with an average daily census of 4 patients across 5 rooms

EMR: Epic (experience required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
-
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00

Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period)

Floating required within the facility and to a sister campus

No on-call requirements

Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred
-
First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Local candidates are accepted

RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them and may request 1 holiday off for approval

Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)

Travelers must be away from all system facilities for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler

No scheduling changes, alternate shifts, or special schedule requests are permitted

Royal blue scrubs required
