About the Alliance & Our Mission
The RHOMarket is a core program of the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance (RHSFA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening our local food system. Our mission is to support small to medium farmers and producers in the Red Hills region, educate the local community on the needs for a thriving local food system, and expand community access to fresh, sustainably grown food.
The RHOMarket acts as our innovative online farmers' market, connecting residents of Tallahassee and surrounding areas with fresh, local products from farms within a 100-mile radius. When you work with us, you are directly supporting local businesses, investing in farmer success, and helping build a resilient, equitable local food economy.
Position Overview & Focus
The Market Manager is the day-to-day coordinator and community face of the RHOMarket. This role focuses on keeping our weekly operational cycles running smoothly while helping to expand our local food network. While the Market Manager maintains overall accountability for the online storefront and physical warehouse, routine data entry, printing, and weekly marketing tasks are handled directly by two Assistant Managers who the Market Manager will supervise.
In addition to day-to-day operations, The Manager’s primary focus is on expanding the market—increasing weekly sales, analyzing seasonal trends, recruiting new local producers, welcoming newcustomers, and ensuring vendor and shopper satisfaction while keeping the market aligned with the Alliance’s non-profit mission.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance. While the Market Manager operates with a high degree of daily independence running the warehouse, they work closely with leadership on long-term strategy, grant data support, and program growth, ensuring the market remains fully integrated with the Alliance’s broader non-profit mission.
