About us
Gratitude Systems is a Washington, DC technology solutions firm serving government and commercial clients across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical security, audiovisual, and cloud. We're small, growing, and looking for a sharp, personable generalist to be the connective tissue of the business.
The opportunity
This is a wear-many-hats role for someone early in their career who wants exposure to everything: marketing, events, client relationships, and the operational side of a government technology contractor. You'll be the person who keeps things moving, makes the company look polished, and represents us well in a room. If you're organized, outgoing, and want to grow into marketing, business development, or operations leadership, this is a rare front-row seat.
What you'll do
Marketing & events
- Manage the company's social media, website updates, and marketing collateral (one-pagers, capability statements, email campaigns)
- Plan and coordinate company events, client appreciation gatherings, and trade show / conference presence — logistics, vendors, materials, and setup
- Represent Gratitude Systems at industry events, mixers, and networking functions; build relationships and generate leads
- Keep marketing materials current and on-brand
Client relations
- Serve as a warm, professional first point of contact for clients and partners
- Coordinate and host client meetings, lunches, and entertainment; make people feel taken care of
- Send follow-ups, thank-yous, and check-ins that keep relationships alive
Administrative & contract support
- Handle day-to-day office administration: scheduling, correspondence, filing, supplies, and vendor coordination
- Support contract administration — organize contract files, track key dates and deliverables, prepare documents
- Assist with proposal production: formatting, gathering forms, compiling attachments
- Maintain CRM records and help keep the pipeline organized
What we're looking for
- 1–4 years of experience in marketing, events, administration, sales support, hospitality, or a client-facing role
- Lives in the DC metro area and can reliably work onsite and attend area events
- Genuinely personable and comfortable representing the company in social and professional settings
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle many small things at once
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Comfortable with the basics: Microsoft Office / Google Workspace, social media platforms, and willingness to learn CRM and marketing tools
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe, Mailchimp/Constant Contact, or a CRM (HubSpot, Zoho, etc.)
- Any exposure to government contracting, technology, or professional services
- A bachelor's degree, or equivalent hustle and experience
Why this role
You'll learn how a growing company actually runs, work directly with leadership, and have a clear path to grow into marketing, BD, or operations. We invest in people who take initiative.
Compensation
$50,000–$65,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonus. Health coverage, PTO, professional development, and reimbursed travel for events. Some evening event attendance required.
