Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Compliance Director to lead our regulatory compliance initiatives. This pivotal role is responsible for development, creation and maintenance of all company compliance policy and procedure documents. Responsible for vendor oversight specific to compliance functions and risk mitigation. Responsible for oversight of Compliance leadership within the organization and their teams.
Essential Duties
- Constant review and updates of the company’s Compliance Management System
- Oversight of Management and personnel responsible for internal process and call auditing
- Participate in industry association webinar to stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in compliance and debt collection.
- Conduct thorough reviews of collection practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including but not limited to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive state law guide outlining relevant debt collection regulations and requirements for each state in which the agency operates.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations governing debt collection and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of compliance activities, including audit reports, corrective action plans, and regulatory filings.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as needed and as assigned
