Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Temporary Dental Hygienist to join our dental team while one of our employee's is on Maternity leave. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing professional dental hygiene services in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills in our general dentistry practice. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive thorough cleanings, education, and personalized care that promotes healthy smiles and positive experiences.
This position has a flexible start date, but we are looking to provide about 12 weeks of work for you on Monday's and Wednesdays with the occasional 3rd day a week. We are open M-Thurs 8 am-5pm with an hour break for lunch from 12-1pm. On Friday's we are only open from 8am-12 pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments for patients of all ages, with special attention to pediatric dentistry needs.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate findings and procedures clearly to patients and team members.
- Operate and interpret medical imaging equipment as needed for comprehensive patient evaluations.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic medical records (EMR) in Dentrix Ascend.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and preventive care strategies.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
- Prior experience working in a dental office setting.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical records management.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
