Manufacturing Finance | Inventory Costing & Analysis | GAAP Reporting | Columbus, OH
Nuvo Packaging dba Pinnpack Ohio (thermoformed packaging & extrusion manufacturer) seeks a technically rigorous Senior Accountant to own financial close, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and reporting in a scaling operation. This role suits a detail-driven professional who masters complex processes, thrives under deadline pressure with strong mental stamina, and delivers precise, data-driven insights that improve manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-cycle close & reporting: Lead monthly/quarterly/year-end close including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and GAAP financial statements.
- Inventory & costing: Manage physical inventory counts, perpetual records, weighted average costing, and valuation in direct coordination with operations and supply chain.
- GL, controls & compliance: Oversee general ledger, AP/AR; maintain strong internal controls, documentation, audit support, and statutory compliance.
- Analysis & decision support: Perform advanced financial analysis, budgeting/forecast support, and cross-functional reporting on manufacturing variances, inventory accuracy, and process improvements.
- Continuous improvement: Identify enhancements to accounting processes while adhering to GMP, safety, and lean practices.
Requirements
Required: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance + 4+ years progressive accounting experience (manufacturing/industrial preferred); Advanced Excel & ERP proficiency; Strong GAAP & internal controls knowledge; Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines and extended close hours; Excellent analytical, problem-solving & communication skills.
Preferred: CPA or active progress; Master’s degree; Direct plastics/packaging/thermoforming experience; Hands-on physical inventory, weighted average costing & manufacturing variance analysis; Multi-site or 3PL close experience; Bilingual (English/Spanish).
