JOB Under the direction of the Director of Youth Services Bureau or designee, the Camp Counselor is responsible for supervising and engaging middle school students in a safe, fun, and supportive camp environment. Counselors lead and assist with a wide range of activities, including culinary, art, science, sports, and adventure-based programming—while serving as positive role models and ensuring the well-being of all campers. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of assigned campers at all times.

Plan, organize, and lead daily activities and special events.

Encourage participation and foster a fun, respectful, and inclusive camp environment.

Enforce camp rules, behavior standards, and safety procedures.

Respond appropriately to emergencies, injuries, and behavioral issues; administer basic first aid as needed.

Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports.

Assist with set-up, clean-up, and organization of camp equipment and supplies.

Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and supervisors regarding camper needs or concerns.

Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate professionalism and teamwork.

Attend required trainings and staff meetings.

Perform related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or 16+ for junior counselor roles, if applicable).

High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education, recreation, or related field preferred.

Experience working with children in a camp, school, childcare, or recreational setting preferred.
