1. An associate (or higher) degree, completion of at least two years of post secondary study at an institution of higher education (at least 48 credits,
exclusive of credits earned in remedial or developmental courses), or; knowledge of and ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics
instruction and attainment of a rigorous standard of quality through a formal assessment. (WorkKeysACT, Parapro-Assessments ETS, ParaEducator
Master Teacher).
2. Demonstrated accurate keyboarding skills with 45 wpm typing/keyboarding.
3. Basic technology literacy and/or willingness to expand skills.
4. Experience working with children preferably in a structured setting.
5. Ability to interact tactfully, effectively, positively, and courteously with parents, students, staff, and others encountered on the job.
6. Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
7. Ability to perform basic language, writing, and computational skills.
8. Ability to staff position for required FTE hours.
9. In lieu of the above qualifications, the district may consider appropriate alternatives to the above qualifications.
