Learn More Here The Cook works in the Population Engagement and Research Lab (PEARL) supporting high quality, safe production of food for our research participants in support of dietary studies. Works in harmony in a team setting. Responsibilities: • Responsibilities include duties related to preparing and serving food for patients, staff and guests. Must have the ability to follow recipes. • General cleaning of food service equipment, utensils and dishware • Follows established department standards of safety in food preparation, service, cleaning, maintenance of equipment and maintains personal safety. • Follows established department standards of sanitation in food preparation, service, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. • Ability to properly use, dispose of and mix chemicals. • Completes work in a timely manner while focusing on safety, quality and customer service. Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize workflow. • Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changes in assignment and procedures. Arrives on time and ready to work at the start of the assigned shift and works to completion of the shift. • Presents a positive and professional attitude at all times. Credentials and Qualifications: • Three (3) years of relevant cooking experience in high volume kitchens, from scratch experience preferred. Firm knowledge of cooking techniques, cooking temperatures and storage procedures. (OR) High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of relevant cooking experience in high volume kitchens, from scratch experience preferred. • Firm knowledge of cooking techniques, cooking temperatures and storage procedures. • Knowledge of basic principles of food production and service in healthcare setting. Demonstrate ability to follow basic oral/written instructions in English. (For the safety of our patients and staff in an emergency situation) Perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds. Salary Range
$16.50 - $24.04
