Job Description:
As a Barista and Counter Service Team Member, you’ll:

Prepare and serve coffee, tea, smoothies, and other beverages to our quality standards

Take customer orders and handle transactions accurately

Assist guests with menu choices and provide exceptional hospitality

Keep workstations clean and organized, following food safety guidelines

Restock supplies and maintain overall store cleanliness

Work as part of a team to ensure smooth, efficient service

Prior waiter or busser experience, a plus

About Us:
Mercado is a lively fast casual Cafe & Restaurant in Upper Montclair, NJ with a focus on hearty and healthy staples. The large, hall-like space is inspired by the traditional markets found in city centers of Portugal and Spain, in which patrons gather for a quick bite or coffee in a lively environment. The multitude of options on the menu speak to the food-hall-like experience, with options from a full breakfast/brunch menu, to build-your-own grain bowls, to specialty sandwiches; all of which include vegan options. At Mercado, customers can also enjoy a full menu of espresso drinks and cold-pressed juices at the barista bar and pair their beverage of choice with a delicious food menu and a selection of bakes goods, including Portuguese pastries.
