Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Crisis Co-Responder Specialist to join our dedicated mental health and behavioral support team. Duties
- Respond promptly to crisis calls and emergency situations, providing immediate de-escalation and behavioral intervention using proven techniques such as crisis management and de-escalation strategies.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing clinical documentation standards, DSM-5 criteria, and medical terminology to determine acuity levels and appropriate interventions.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focusing on trauma, grief, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, and other mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
- Collect detailed data for clinical documentation, medical records management, electronic health records (EHR), CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in case management activities such as patient care planning, follow-up support, resource linkage, and high-risk population support to promote recovery and stability.
- Participate in ongoing research initiatives and continuous training to stay current on best practices in behavioral health, crisis intervention techniques, applied behavior analysis, and behavioral management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; clinical experience preferred.
- Proven experience working with children, families, or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Strong background in crisis intervention techniques including de-escalation methods and clinical crisis assessment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, psychiatric patient care standards, mental health counseling modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, grief counseling, and addiction counseling.
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems and adherence to clinical documentation standards including CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10).
- Ability to work effectively with high-risk populations experiencing trauma or co-occurring disorders such as substance use disorders or PTSD.
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient evaluation, group facilitation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations; experience with medical records management is a plus.

Pay: Up to $54,000.00 per year
