Position Summary
The Community Relations Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the organization’s fundraising efforts by managing accurate donor records, seeking donations and in-kind gifts, processing contributions, coordinating donor communications, and supporting events and campaigns. The coordinator ensures donors and sponsors receive timely, personalized recognition, fostering long-term relationships to sustain the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and confidential donor records in the database.
- Process gifts and prepare prompt, personalized donor acknowledgments (emails, phone calls, videos, letters).
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events.
- Coordinate donor communications including appeals, event invitations, updates, news, etc.
- Represent the organization at community events, fairs, meetings, and other outreach opportunities.
- Obtain financial gifts, in-kind donations, and sponsorships.
- Serve as back up on phones and facility visitors.
- Seek community partnership opportunities for fundraising.
- Research potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years in fundraising, donor relations, nonprofit event coordination, or directly-related nonprofit work.
- Proficiency with donor databases and giving platforms. Experience with Give Butter preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Passion for supporting our mission.
- Must be at least 21 and able to pass a criminal background check.
Schedule and Compensation
- Office hours: 8:30 - 5:00 with occasional evening or weekend work for organizational events. Would consider part-time for the right candidate.
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience, with PTO and holiday pay.
- This position is on-site at our Tyler office.
