Ever worked somewhere that wanted you to have a life outside of work?
Not just saying it.
Actually putting money aside every year to help you do something you've always wanted to do.
One person used it to hike the Inca Trail.
Another went to the Ryder Cup.
It's a small benefit on paper.
It tells you quite a lot about the people running the firm.
They're hiring an Audit Manager.
The firm's around 25 people, so you won't disappear into a department of 100 auditors. You'll work closely with the Partners, get to know your clients properly, and have a real say in how things are done.
The client base is mainly privately owned manufacturing and construction businesses. Lots of family owned companies. Clients you work with year after year rather than once and never again.
Busy season usually sits around 55 hours.
Summer Fridays mean everyone heads home early.
Hybrid working gives people flexibility without everyone working in isolation.
They're already thinking about succession too. If Partnership is something you'd like one day, it's a genuine conversation here rather than something that's mentioned in an interview and never brought up again.
They're looking for someone with:
- CPA
- Audit Manager experience within public accounting
- Experience leading audit engagements
- Someone who enjoys helping junior staff develop and building lasting client relationships
A few reasons people join:
- Summer Fridays
- Busy season around 55 hours
- Hybrid working
- Direct access to the Partners
- Clients you actually get to know
- A firm that invests in your life outside of work as well as your career
- A genuine route to Partnership
If you're just browsing the job boards and haven't dusted off your resume yet, that's not a problem. Give me a call first on 312 564 5028. Or send me a connection request or message on LinkedIn (Lucy Weibel at Distinct) and we can have a chat first.
If you're in accounting and you're unsure whether to apply because you don't tick every box, I'd still encourage you to get in touch. If this isn't quite right, there's a good chance I'll be working on something that is.
