Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Youth Support Specialists / Residential Support Staff to provide exceptional care and support to youth in residential settings. This role involves working closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or other special care requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing environment while promoting independence and well-being. Prior experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home & community care is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document accordingly using EMR systems
- Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior
- Support residents with memory care, dementia, Alzheimer's, and behavioral management strategies
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties
- Support residents during activities and outings, including driving when necessary
- Utilize proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
- Document incidents, progress notes, and care plans accurately in compliance with facility policies
Skills
- Experience with assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia, memory care, and behavioral management techniques
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with compassion and professionalism
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and medication administration protocols
- Strong caregiving skills with experience working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and residents’ families
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures and safety guidelines
- Basic proficiency in EMR systems for documentation purposes
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties if required
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
