About the Position
Bolt Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to estimate, oversee, and coordinate industrial construction projects from planning through completion. This position will be responsible for both estimating prospective projects and managing awarded projects, ensuring projects are accurately priced, properly planned, safely executed, on schedule, within budget, and meet the quality standards expected by our clients.
The Construction Project Manager works closely with Project Superintendents, field personnel, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and company leadership to coordinate resources and successfully execute projects.
This is primarily a local, office-based position with minimal travel, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional who wants to remain based in the Youngstown area while managing industrial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project estimating and takeoff:
Estimate construction projects, including reviewing plans, specifications, drawings, isometrics, scopes of work, and other project documents to develop accurate and competitive estimates. Plan, organize, and manage construction projects from start to completion.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, work plans, and objectives.
- Coordinate project activities with Project Superintendents and field personnel.
- Communicate professionally and consistently with clients, management, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
- Review and interpret technical plans, construction drawings, specifications, and isometric diagrams.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractor resources.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, costs, quality, and schedules.
- Enforce company, client, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Identify project issues and apply critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation, progress reports, and photographic records.
- Attend client, contractor, and project meetings as required.
- Provide direction, guidance, mentoring, and support to Project Superintendents and project personnel.
- Keep company leadership informed of project progress, changes, delays, and potential concerns.
- Assist with estimating, planning, procurement, and project closeout activities.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, timely, cost-effectively, and professionally.
- Adapt to changes in project scope, schedules, staffing, and client requirements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably involving mechanical piping fabrication and installation.
- Strong understanding of industrial construction processes and project coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical plans, specifications, and isometric diagrams.
- Experience managing T&M projects, including labor tracking, material usage, cost control, documentation, and client billing
- Strong organizational, scheduling, budgeting, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with computers, mobile applications, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Bluebeam is a plus.
- A degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, including THC and alcohol screening.

Physical Requirements
The position may occasionally require lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying objects. The employee must be able to perform the physical requirements necessary to visit and evaluate construction and project environments as needed.
Work Environment & Travel
This position is primarily office-based in Youngstown, Ohio, with minimal travel. Occasional minimal travel to local or regional project sites, client meetings, or project locations may be required based on business and project needs.
