The Estimator / Planner plays a key role in bridging design and production by developing accurate cost estimates and building production plans that ensure efficient execution.
Estimating:
-
Review and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications

Identify materials, labor, production steps, and equipment requirements

Develop detailed estimates including bills of materials and labor hours
Production Planning:
-
Build and maintain production packages to support workflow efficiency
-
Coordinate with purchasing to align material needs with timelines
-
Identify machines, processes, and personnel required for production
Collaboration:
-
Partner with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams
-
Support the transition from concept into full production
Must-Haves
-
3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
-
Experience with estimating, production planning, or both

Hands-on experience creating bills of materials (BOM) and cost estimates
-
Experience working within an ERP or MRP system
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
