We're looking for an experienced Travel RN Wound Care Consultant to partner with skilled nursing communities throughout Wisconsin, providing hands-on clinical leadership, wound care expertise, and quality improvement support.

As our Travel RN Wound Care Consultant, you'll work alongside Directors of Nursing, Administrators, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical practices and ensure high-quality resident outcomes. You'll serve as a trusted clinical resource while helping communities build sustainable processes for long-term success.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead wound care quality improvement initiatives within skilled nursing communities
Conduct wound rounds, clinical observations, chart audits, and resident record reviews
Review resident assessments, physician orders, treatments, care plans, and clinical documentation
Identify root causes of clinical concerns and implement sustainable corrective action plans
Partner with facility leadership to improve change-in-condition management, wound prevention, and accident prevention processes
Provide real-time coaching and education to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
Develop and enhance policies, clinical protocols, monitoring tools, and communication processes
Conduct competency evaluations following education and training sessions
Monitor performance through QAPI initiatives and analyze trends to support continuous improvement
Maintain detailed documentation of audits, education, corrective actions, and compliance activities
Prepare required regulatory reports and collaborate with leadership on ongoing monitoring efforts
We're seeking an experienced clinical leader who is passionate about mentoring others and improving resident outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Director of Nursing (DON) leadership experience
Quality Improvement Specialist experience within long-term care
Current wound care certification
Ability to obtain Wisconsin DHS approval prior to assignment
Must meet independence requirements with no affiliation to assigned facilities or ownership groups within the previous five years
Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, survey readiness, QAPI, and clinical compliance
Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
Willingness to travel extensively throughout Wisconsin
