The primary responsibility of the assistant teacher is the safety and well being of the children in their care.
The assistant teacher assists with daily activities as assigned by the lead and director and works together with the director, lead teacher, and other staff members to encourage an atmosphere of goodwill, open communication, and teamwork.
Specific Duties:
- Assist in planning, organizing, cleaning, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
- Assist in preparation of educational materials
- Assist in maintaining a neat and organized classroom
- Assist in upkeep of all educational materials and equipment
- Assist in supervision of all activities to insure the safety of each child
- Eat meals with children and assist in developing good nutritional habits and social skills
- Assist children in establishing good toileting habits and personal hygiene
- Know and understand Michigan Licensing rules and regulations
- Assist in observations and assessments
- Adhere to the foundational principles and policies of BBCCC
- Participate in assigned professional development trainings
- Demonstrate professionalism
- Understand and follow primary caregiving as defined by licensing and lead:
- Assist in completing assessments
- Making observations
- Completing basic care routine (diapering/toileting, feeding, emotional care/support, communicating with families etc.)

Schedule:
We are open from 7:30am-6:00pm Monday through Friday. We are looking for people who are able to work 6-9 hour shifts within that time frame
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.37 - $18.24 per hour
