Duties
- Operate dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools, adhering to safety standards in production.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support meal preparation by organizing ingredients, portioning foods, and ensuring timely delivery of prepared items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by sanitizing surfaces, disposing of waste properly, and following food safety protocols.
- Help with food handling activities, including storing ingredients correctly and rotating stock to ensure freshness.
- Follow menu planning guidelines to assist in preparing consistent and appealing meals for various dietary needs.
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing ingredients or assisting with serving as needed.
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments.
- Experience with food handling, meal preparation, cooking techniques, and restaurant or kitchen operations.
- Proficiency in food industry practices including food service, catering, and serving customers.
- Excellent knife skills with proper slicing techniques to ensure efficiency and safety during food prep.
- Familiarity with menu planning processes and dietary requirements for diverse populations.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
