Position Title: Stability Chemist
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $26.00 DOE (Non-Exempt)
Reports to: R&D Director
Position Summary:
The stability chemist position works directly with R&D Director, assigning shelf life of finished product by conducting accelerated and real time stability.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Tasks/ Responsibilities including but not limited to:
· Perform testing of stability samples in a timely and accurate manner to support the stability program.
· Ensure samples are logged in and label accurately and pulled at appropriate testing intervals.
· Evaluate samples against the standard on physical, pH, viscosity, specific gravity, weight loss, assay, and PET.
· Perform data entry in spreadsheet and computer systems.
· Effective communication with sales and project center if the product is out of spec.
· Prepare stability summary report once stability test is completed.
· Follow up with outside lab on all testing such as HIRPT, kill test and assay.
· Maintain documentation in an accurate, clear and concise manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Maintain a clean laboratory environment and ensure that safety regulations are followed.
· Conduct weekly reports regarding activities and results.
Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, working safely with laboratory equipment and chemicals
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Prefer at least 1 year lab experience
· Basic computer skill such as word and Excel
· Initiative
· Problem Solving/Analysis
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or science
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to troubleshoot analytical methods and laboratory instrumentation. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.
Working Conditions/Job Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasionally the work environment may be loud.
