Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team in a fast-paced casual dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a proven track record of managing kitchen operations to ensure exceptional customer service and a positive dining experience.
Duties:
- Manage kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation, plating, and presentation.
- Oversee food safety and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and to address customer complaints.
- Develop and implement menus, recipes, and kitchen policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage food ordering and stock control.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service.
- Manage cash handling, till operations, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and restaurant health and safety standards.
- Lead and manage the catering team to deliver exceptional catering services.
- Collaborate with the management team to set kitchen goals and objectives and to develop strategies to achieve them.
- Manage shift schedules and staff, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to kitchen staff.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and management.
Skills:
- Proven experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of food industry regulations and best practices.
- Experience with catering and restaurant management.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling.
- Ability to manage shift schedules and staff.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in casual dining or similar environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
