Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, provide menu recommendations, and answer questions about food and beverage options with enthusiasm.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted clearly.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, handling cash handling duties with integrity.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues promptly to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and supporting host/hostess duties as needed to keep the dining area organized and welcoming.
- Demonstrate excellent guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring every guest leaves satisfied.
- Support team members in a fast-paced environment by managing time effectively during busy hours.
Requirements
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is advantageous.
- Proven ability in beverage service including cocktail preparation, wine knowledge, spirits experience, and drink service techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and positive energy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities.
- Culinary experience or food industry background is beneficial for understanding food preparation and presentation standards.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed in a lively restaurant atmosphere.
