The mission of The George Washington University’s School of Business (GWSB) is to be a preeminent business school recognized for scholarly research, teaching excellence, and innovative curricula, and it focuses on the responsible management of organizations in the global environment.
In support of this mission, the purpose of this position is to provide strategic coordination and comprehensive program management on behalf of academic and research initiatives within GWSB. Operating under limited supervision from the Principal Investigator (PI) and exercising a significant degree of discretion and independent judgment, the Program Manager serves as the primary administrative authority and operational point of contact for the initiative.
This role manages key stakeholder relationships, independently resolves high-level and complex inquiries from faculty, staff, external partners, and students, and provides comprehensive operational oversight. Key responsibilities include leading program evaluation and analysis, managing grant allocations and project expenditures, directing marketing and outreach efforts, and managing institutional compliance workflows (such as IRB interfaces). While this position does not have formal direct reports, the incumbent frequently schedules, trains, and functionally leads temporary staff, student workers, and project team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute the daily administrative and operational workflows of the academic initiative to ensure alignment with university and departmental objectives.
- Oversee the implementation and delivery of program curricula, training modules, and workshops, serving as the primary lead for project timelines and deliverables.
- Direct program evaluation efforts; design data collection frameworks, analyze metrics, and prepare comprehensive progress reports to assess program efficacy and recommend policy or procedural improvements.
- Serve as the authoritative point of contact for the program, independently resolving high-level and complex inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the program’s designated funding allocations, ensuring strict adherence to university financial protocols and external funding constraints.
- Monitor and forecast expenditures, process payments, track vendor contracts, and authorize programmatic spending within established guidelines.
- Collaborate with GWSB Finance and external funding bodies to assist with future funding opportunities, financial reporting, and compliance audits.
- Act as the primary liaison for the Institutional Review Board (IRB), ensuring all research activities, programmatic components, and data collection standards remain in full compliance with federal and university regulatory policies.
- Manage data management protocols, ensuring secure storage, confidentiality, and accurate documentation of participant metrics and research outputs.
- Coordinate outreach with other GW stakeholders, administrative divisions, and external partners to maintain standard operational efficiencies and cross-departmental alignment.
- Develop and execute the program’s public web presence, digital marketing strategies, and promotional materials to drive engagement and programmatic reach.
- Plan, resource, and lead high-impact program events, lectures, and community engagement forums.
- Provide functional supervision, scheduling, and training to temporary staff, student employees, wage hires, or project volunteers; assign project tasks and review work output for accuracy and completeness.

This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment and salary levels are dependent on the renewal of specific contracts and the availability of sponsored funds.
