Job Summary
Trendy Educational Services (TES) is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated, and mission-driven Program Coordinator Intern to support our literacy initiatives, community partnerships, and special projects. This hybrid internship provides hands-on experience in program coordination, education, community engagement, event planning, fundraising, and project management.
This position is especially ideal for college students or recent graduates pursuing degrees in Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Literacy, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related fields who are seeking meaningful, real-world experience while making a positive impact in the community.
The ideal candidate enjoys taking initiative, building relationships, and coordinating projects from planning through execution. They should be comfortable collaborating with the Executive Director while also working independently, managing multiple priorities, and following through on tasks with minimal supervision. A passion for literacy, education, and serving children and families is strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination of the Our Children Can Read literacy campaign.
- Contact and follow up with schools, businesses, churches, libraries, community organizations, volunteers, sponsors, and partners.
- Help coordinate literacy events, book drives, community outreach, and fundraising activities.
- Track partnership outreach and maintain follow-up schedules.
- Assist with Givebutter fundraising campaigns and donor engagement.
- Research grants, sponsorship opportunities, and community resources.
- Help coordinate volunteers and event logistics.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing agendas.
- Help maintain project trackers and task lists.
- Assist with marketing efforts, including community announcements, email campaigns, and social media coordination.
- Support recruitment efforts for tutors, volunteers, interns, and community partners.
- Represent TES at approved community events when needed.
- Complete special projects assigned by leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable making phone calls and sending professional emails
- Self-starter with excellent time management
- Able to work independently while collaborating with a team
- Passion for literacy, education, and community impact
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Canva or social media is a plus
