Duties
- Oversee daily front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and patient inquiries
- Manage medical administrative support tasks such as maintaining accurate medical records, processing insurance claims, and verifying patient insurance coverage using systems like Dentrix and Eaglesoft
- Supervise front office staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of customer service and operational efficiency
- Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize appointment flow and reduce patient wait times while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards
- Handle fiscal management responsibilities including budgeting, billing, and financial reporting to support practice profitability
- Maintain proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and data management
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations like JCAHO standards, HIPAA privacy rules, and managed care protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in medical office management within a dental or healthcare setting, with strong knowledge of dental clinic operations
- Expertise in managing financial aspects such as budgeting, billing, and revenue cycle management using dental-specific software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Supervisory experience leading front desk or administrative teams in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for medical records management
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, and medical records handling
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, insurance providers, and vendors
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a busy clinic environment
