TITLE: TEACHER
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate.
2. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
3. Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
4. Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien
status.
REPORTS TO: Shall be responsible to the Board of Education through the appropriate
superior(s) as designated in the district's and respective building's Table of
Organization.
JOB GOAL: The primary responsibility of the teacher is to lead students toward fulfillment of
their potential for intellectual and psychological growth and maturation within the
limits of the resources provided by the district.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teacher/Pupil Relationships
1. The teacher shall identify and provide for individual differences and the needs of pupils. Student
achievement shall be the responsibility of the teacher consistent with the individual potential of
each student.
2. The teacher shall show interest and understanding for the pupil's intellectual, emotional, familial,
social, moral and physical developments as they affect pupil performance.
3. The teacher shall be effective with pupils of varied abilities.
4. The teacher encourages pupils to improve their learning skills.
5. The teacher encourages pupils to take pride in themselves, their school and their community.
Teacher Preparation
1. The teacher shall plan goals and objectives for each class.
2. The teacher shall diagnose the needs of each class and plan learning activities accordingly.
3. The teacher allows for relevant contributions from students when choosing and organizing
appropriate learning activities.
4. The teacher explores relevant community resources (human, material, etc.).
