Accounts Receivable/Accounting Assistant
SUMMARY
Provides support to the Accounting Manager through a range of administrative and
accounting tasks. Ensures all customer accounts receivables are paid on time and
correctly processed.
Full-time bookkeeper processor that supports the Accounting Manager with responsibility
for accounts receivable, management accounts, prep and reconciliation, internal control
procedures, and month end reconciliations for two companies. Training will be provided
where required but previous relevant experience is essential.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- · Pick up, deliver and post mail on a daily basis
- · Credit control, contacting customers to politely and assertively request payment – reducing days overdue
- · Posting customer payments into SAGE 100 and reconciling customer accounts with their records, dealing with any discrepancies
- · Develop and maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence – prevent backlogs and ensure recordkeeping is user friendly and documents are organized
- · Coordinate with accounting staff in creating invoice copies and filing copies appropriately
- · Provide accounting reports to accounting manager for accounts receivable
- · Assist in preparation of credit memos and correction invoices, ensuring audited for supporting documentation and authentication
- · Make daily bank deposits
- · Send customer statements
- · Process RMA’s for customer credits
- · Calculate and enter monthly AR related accruals
- · Petty Cash and Staff Expenses
- · Provide cover to AP when they take vacation or have unplanned absences.

- · Punctual attendance is critical to the job
- · Receive, direct and relay telephone, fax and email messages
- · Provide word-processing and secretarial support as needed
- · Update sales invoice batches on a daily basis – learn and become proficient in use of Sage 100 ordering/batching system
- · Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Possess and display excellent communication skills including diplomacy and interpersonal skills; ensuring good interaction with internal staff and external customers thus putting the company’s best face forward and identifying/solving issues before they become problematic
· Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (excel)
· Analytical and problem solving skills
· Organizational skills; ability to think independently and recommend solutions on an at needed basis; use personal initiative to continually improve and make the job his or her own
· Accounting background highly desirable
· High school diploma with some college preferred
· Prior Knowledge of Sage 100 is an advantage
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment in a distribution Company. Normal hours of work will be Monday-Thursday 6:30am-5:00pm with 30 minutes for lunch and 2 ten minutes breaks. Total 40 hours per week. Position Holders need to be flexible with working hours, as may be required to work overtime and occasional weekends. Must be eligible to work in the USA and provide documentation to support this. EBC work shirts are provided and we offer free on-site parking.
Must be able to provide own transportation; parking at EBC parking lot will require valid driver’s license, car registration and insurance.
Must wear uniform shirt provided by company
