State Maintenance bureau works with all Districts, provides support with projects though out the state. State maintenance bureau is responsible for overseeing the outdoor advertising, sign shop and signal lab to provide these services throughout the state.
As a valued new employee to NMDOT, you may be eligible to receive three (3) days of administrate leave upon your start date. This is applicable to external hires not within the State of New Mexico Government.
Why does the job exist?
This position will exist to bring the administrative support to the state maintenance bureau.
How does it get done?
- The position will be responsible for performing all financial transactions for the Bureau
- Coordination with administration regarding high priority NMDOT tasks associated with maintenance
- Organization of and attendance at department wide meetings currently administered by the state
maintenance bureau
- Maintenance of employee records, files and coordination of all human resources
transactions for the department

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some statewide travel may be required.
