We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrician Top Helper.
In this role, you will assist licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial projects. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring that electrical work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code). The ideal candidate will possess foundational electrical knowledge, hands-on experience with electrical tools, and a strong commitment to safety procedures. The Electrician Top Helper position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a professional construction environment while supporting the successful completion of complex electrical installations.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with installing electrical systems according to blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Handle hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during electrical wiring, conduit bending, and other installation tasks.
- Support the reading and interpretation of electrical blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate system installation.
- Aid in the assembly of conduit systems, including conduit bending and securing wiring within designated pathways.
- Participate in electrical wiring of commercial systems, ensuring connections meet NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment on construction sites.
- Assist with the installation of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems as directed by senior electricians.
- Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to verify circuit integrity and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain clean work areas, organize tools, and ensure compliance with safety regulations throughout project phases.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to safety standards.
Experience
- Prior experience assisting with industrial or commercial electrical projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance requirements for electrical installations.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of conduit bending techniques and electrical wiring practices.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Construction site experience working on large-scale projects involving commercial or industrial systems.
- Basic understanding of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems installation.
- Experience working in environments requiring strict adherence to safety protocols related to electrical work.
- MUST be able to pass a background check.
Pay rate: $26 to $28 an hour, based on experience.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2 pm to 12 am.
