Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, expense reporting, reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting. The role works closely with senior leadership and outside accounting professionals, providing significant exposure to how a growing company manages its financial operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, intellectually curious, and eager to build a long-term career in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist with payroll administration and payroll reconciliations.
- Review and process employee expense reports.
- Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting schedules.
- Help maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting projects.
- Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as requested.
- Work with outside accounting firms and other financial service providers.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support special projects and other finance initiatives as the company continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience, including internships.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.
- Desire to build a long-term career in accounting and finance.
