After School Program Attendant
Report To: School Administrator/After School Coordinator
Primary Purpose:
Under the direction of the School Administrator/Coordinator, Attendants will oversee a group of students.
Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma required
A background in education and/or college courses in recreation or education
are preferred but not required
Childcare work experience is preferred but not required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must enjoy working with school aged children/youth
Must possess a positive attitude and serve as a role model to the children/youth
Willing to assist children with logging in to computers
Ability to communicate effectively with students
Must be able to maintain confidentiality with discretion and professionalism
Must be able to work well with others
Must be able to pass to Fingerprint/background check clearance
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Creating a caring and stimulating environment to help strengthen self-esteem and independence as well as help to develop physical, cognitive, emotional, creative, and social skills of the children/youth.
2. Organize activities and supervise groups of children in classroom and playground activities to ensure safety at all times
3. Assisting with and monitoring the distribution of snacks
4. Assisting children with learning activities and/or homework as needed.
5. Utilize age appropriate behavior management strategies to monitor children’s behavior and maintain a safe environment; report behavior problems to coordinator and/ or director
6. Maintain records and logs regarding activities and concerns
7. Sign in and check out children to parents and guardians
8. Maintaining space utilized in a sanitary, neat and orderly manner including but not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing work areas, organizing play areas, etc.
9. Communicate with parents, coordinator and/or administrator in a courteous and professional manner
10. Perform related duties as assigned by coordinator and/or administrator

Group of students/children assigned
Equipment Used:
Computer, calculator, basic art supplies and crafts
Compensation: $15.00 Hourly

Simultaneous multitasking: listening, speaking, watching, doing/Frequent standing, sitting, walking, and bending at the waist for extended periods of time/ Exposure to frequent and loud talking/noise

License/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
