Our Adult Day Support Activity (DSA) Program provides structured opportunities for social engagement, community participation, and personal growth while honoring each individual’s strengths, needs, and goals.
Position Overview
We are seeking an Inclusion Support & Care Assistant to provide flexible, hands-on support within our Day Support Activity Program. This role supports adults with I/DD through engagement in daily activities, community involvement, and necessary caregiving tasks. This role assists across program areas as needed, ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for all participants.
This position is ideal for someone who is adaptable, compassionate, and passionate about disability support work.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Disability Support
- Support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in participating and engaging in group and independent activities, social skill-building, and community-based experiences.
- Encourage independence, choice-making, and self-advocacy while providing appropriate supervision.
- Foster a respectful, inclusive environment where each individual feels valued. Assist other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations.
Care & Personal Assistance
- Provide necessary caregiving support based on individual support needs. Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, hygiene, mobility, feeding, and transitions throughout the day.
- Promote safety, dignity, and comfort always while following individualized support plans.
Inclusion & Program Support
- Float between activity areas or groups based on daily program needs. Step in to support staff during high-need periods or absences.
- Support positive behavioral strategies and de-escalation when needed.
Documentation & Team Communication
- Assist with documentation related to participation, care support, and observations. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support continuity of care.
- Follow all agency policies, confidentiality requirements, and state regulations.
Qualifications
- A warm, patient, and respectful approach to supporting adults with I/DD. Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities throughout the day.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfort providing hands-on care.
- Experience in caregiving, social services, education, or healthcare is preferred but not required.
- Are over 18 years old, and can pass a criminal background check.
- Have a High School diploma or GED
Schedule & Compensation
- Pay: $19–$23 per hour, based on experience and education
- Pay Increases: Opportunities for wage increases based on performance, tenure, and increased responsibilities.
- Schedule: Based on program needs, currently 25-32 hours per week between 8am and 4pm, M-F. Potential for additional evening and weekend hours
- Paid Training: All required training is provided and paid
