Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, and supporting day-to-day bookkeeping operations across multiple locations.
This is a hands-on, operational role focused on QuickBooks bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and cash management in a regulated cannabis environment. This position works in coordination with a third-party accounting firm that prepares year-end financial statements (AFS).
The primary locations for this role will be in Rockford, MI and Belding, MI, with travel to Portage, MI 2-3 times per month.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks across multiple facilities
- Process payroll using QuickBooks and timekeeping systems
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and cash transactions
- Track and record receipts, expenses, and purchases
- Generate financial reports within QuickBooks
- Audit and reconcile cash drawers and safes at retail locations
- Maintain and update the general ledger
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Assist third-party accounting firm with year-end financial statements (AFS)
- Maintain accurate records in a regulated, compliance-driven environment
Requirements
- Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management
- Payroll processing experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Ability to work on-site across multiple locations
Preferred
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable
- Experience working in multi-location or retail environment
- Familiarity with budgeting or basic financial analysis
- Experience in a regulated industry (cannabis experience a plus, not required)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
