CHIEF ENGINEER - Opryland Area
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Engineer to lead our engineering and maintenance operations across facilities management. This pivotal role involves overseeing the maintenance of complex mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance. As a leader in our organization, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage technical teams, and coordinate large-scale projects to support our production goals. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly organized, and possesses a strong background in industrial maintenance, management, and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team to ensure efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems across facilities.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to minimize downtime.
- Oversee the troubleshooting, repair, and installation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, high voltage, low voltage systems, and other automation equipment.
- Manage facilities management activities including HVAC systems, electrical distribution (including high voltage and low voltage), and mechanical infrastructure.
- Coordinate large-scale projects such as system upgrades or new installations with project management teams while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct inspections using tools like ohmmeters and schematics to diagnose issues accurately; ensure compliance with safety protocols related to electrical and industrial maintenance.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, asset conditions, and safety inspections; utilize CMMS for tracking work orders and inventory.
- Foster leadership within your team through supervising experience, promoting best practices in maintenance management, safety procedures, and operational excellence.
Skills
- Proven management skills with experience supervising technical teams in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical experience (including high voltage), and HVAC operations.
- Strong understanding of schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation systems, and industrial control processes.
- Experience with facilities management practices including CMMS software implementation and maintenance planning.
- Excellent project management skills for coordinating upgrades or new installations within manufacturing settings.
- Fluency in English with clear communication skills for team leadership and cross-department collaboration.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with a focus on safety standards related to electrical work (high voltage/low voltage) and industrial maintenance.
