This position will be located at 1730 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, Missouri. Work hours are Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Participates in the review, processing, drafting, development and promulgation of modifications to regulations and related policies and procedures. Work with a diverse team (engineering, enforcement, and operations staff) to develop technical provisions of regulations while learning the general technical knowledge for the various disciplines needed to properly communicate and coordinate. Provides assistance to colleagues and stakeholders in the practical application of state statutes and regulations, federal regulations, program policies, and procedures related to waste management activities across Missouri. Acts as a subject matter expect for rulemaking processes and procedures including 508 compliance for rulemaking documents and forms.
- Coordinates and assists in the conduct of assigned projects and studies of procedures, programs, systems, communications, work routines, methods, and forms; prepares reports and recommendations for implementation of improvements.
- Analyzes, develops, and prepares final detailed procedures covering specific work routines, functions, and programs. Confers with appropriate administrative or managerial staff on proposed procedural changes or projects; prepares the program for the conduct and implementation of the project.
- Assists with presentations, planning public exhibits, conducting stakeholder meetings, publicizing accomplishments, and promoting a variety of programs and environmental protection projects.
- Participates in planning, conducting, and/or overseeing assessment and remediation of wastes, and other environmental contamination; assists in recommending actions for managing risks to public health and the environment.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of experience (substitutions may be allowed). (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
