Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – State Counseling AssociationThe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides overall leadership and strategic direction to support the mission, growth, and effectiveness of the association.Position SummaryThe CEO serves as the chief administrative leader of the association and is responsible for implementing the organization's strategic vision, managing daily operations, and supporting the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities include overseeing finances, staff, programs, partnerships, and membership services while advancing the counseling profession through advocacy, professional development, ethical practice, and member engagement.The CEO works collaboratively with the Board of Directors, committees, volunteers, and external stakeholders to ensure organizational sustainability, enhance member value, and represent the association in professional and public settings.
QualificationsBachelor's degree required.Experience in nonprofit management, association leadership, counseling, or a related field preferred.Strong leadership, communication, financial management, and organizational skills.
Transition TimelineThe anticipated hire date is October 1, 2026. The selected candidate will participate in a structured transition period, working alongside the current CEO for approximately one year. The candidate is expected to assume full CEO responsibilities independently beginning October 1, 2027.
