Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe lifting practices such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, maintaining detailed medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Support patient transfer methods using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
- Provide emotional support and effective communication to patients and their families, fostering a caring environment that respects patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and basic wound care following aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings like long-term care facilities, hospitals—including ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers—and outpatient clinics to deliver comprehensive patient service.
- Maintain infection control standards by adhering to protocols for infectious disease care and practicing proper hand hygiene and PPE usage.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure or registration.
- Proven experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, behavioral health needs, or pediatric patients.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
- Experience utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; experience with Hoyer lifts is preferred.
- Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication abilities to coordinate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Prior experience in settings such as hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities or home & community care is highly desirable.

Pay: $24.58 - $29.60 per hour
