Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Shower Installer – Lead & Helper positions available! This exciting opportunity is perfect for motivated individuals eager to work in the construction and remodeling industry, specializing in custom shower installations.
We are a growing residential bathroom remodeling operation seeking reliable, skilled tradespeople to join our installer team on a 1099 contractor basis. You will manage complete shower replacement projects in customers' homes — from initial demolition through final waterproofing and sealing — representing our brand with professionalism every step of the way. We work with industry-leading brands, including Hansons, SageHome, and New Bath Today, installing premium acrylic and Lux Stone wall systems.
Duties
- What You'll Do
- Review the job scope before arrival at the job site, confirm materials from the warehouse, and walk through the project plan with the homeowner before beginning work
- Protect the customer's home throughout the job by laying drop cloths, covering fixtures, and maintaining a clean work corridor from entry to the bathroom
- Safely locate and shut off the water supply, then demo the existing shower — which may include fiberglass units, tile on drywall or cement board, or cast iron mudset installations
- Install the new shower base with proper drain plumbing (PVC) and route new water supply lines (PEX), ensuring all connections pass a pressure test before closing the wall
- Hang moisture-resistant backer board and apply inside-corner waterproofing. Where the design calls for a seat, grab bars, niche, or door, install 2×6 or larger blocking inside the wall cavity for structural support
- Fit and install the three-wall panel system, all plumbing fixtures, and any customer-selected accessories, following manufacturer specifications throughout
- Apply silicone sealant to all seams and penetrations, thoroughly clean the work area, walk the completed job with the homeowner, collect payment or a signed completion form, and submit all job photos and documentation through the portal
Skills
- Hands-on experience in bathroom remodeling, general construction, or a related trade — plumbing and carpentry familiarity is a strong plus
- Ability to manage a full day's work independently and adapt to varying job-site conditions
- Strong customer-facing communication — you represent our brand in someone's home; professionalism and courtesy are non-negotiable
- Ownership of or reliable access to standard trade tools — drill, reciprocating saw, jigsaw, shop vac, PEX crimpers, caulking gun, and PPE at minimum
- Reliable transportation and the ability to pick up materials from our warehouse before heading to job sites
- Comfort using a job portal app for reviewing work orders, uploading photos, and submitting completed job details
Compensation & Structure
This is a per-job, 1099 independent contractor position — you are paid for results, not hours. Lead installers earn $300 per completed job; helpers earn $175. A $25 transportation allowance is paid for both warehouse pickup and job-site drop-off, totaling up to $50 per day. As your volume grows, so does your income. High-performing installers are given priority scheduling.
