Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new ideas and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle food with care, demonstrating excellent knife skills and food handling techniques to optimize efficiency and safety
- Collaborate with team members during meal preparation to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- Serve dishes promptly, ensuring proper plating, garnishing, and adherence to dietary restrictions or special requests
Requirements
- Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of food industry standards, including food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with dietary department protocols and dietary aide practices is highly desirable
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly for fine dining or casual settings
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to handle multiple ingredients efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior experience in menu planning, catering, or serving is advantageous
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance is preferred
