Operate and drive vehicles with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of over 33,000 pounds

Load and unload freight using appropriate handling equipment

Ensure load contents are securely packed and organized

Perform routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance

Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs using both electronic and paper logbooks

Retain fuel/toll receipts

Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
-
Adhere to truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures

Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
-
Collect and verify delivery instructions

Report any defects, accidents, or violations
-
Handle customer items with care and respect

Communicate effectively with other crew members, clients, and move coordinators
-
Be reliable, punctual, and available for flexible work schedules
-
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)

Able to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Proven work experience as a truck driver

Experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.)

Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly

Willingness to work variable hours, which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime

Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

Valid Class A driving license

Ability to lift heavy items and physically capable of walking up and down several flights of stairs

Experience with an electric lift, hand truck, and pallet jack is preferred

Complete a background check, DOT drug screening, and MVR check
