Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping/Inspection Manager to lead our shipping, receiving, and inspection operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end process of inventory handling, transportation coordination, and quality inspections to ensure seamless supply chain flow. Your leadership will drive process improvements, optimize warehouse distribution, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all shipping, receiving, and inspection activities within the warehouse and distribution centers
- Oversee materials handling, inventory control, and warehouse management systems to maintain accurate stock levels and streamline order fulfillment processes
- Manage transportation planning and logistics, including freight forwarding, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers
- Implement process improvements using data analysis tools such as Tableau and SQL to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve delivery timelines
- Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions or quality issues to develop corrective actions and prevent recurrence
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, carriers, and suppliers to optimize pricing, service levels, and category management strategies
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by managing forklift operations, mechanical equipment maintenance, and materials handling procedures
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, or logistics leadership roles with a focus on shipping & receiving operations
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (such as SAP or AS400), and transportation management systems (TMS)
- Demonstrated ability in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations
- Familiarity with inventory management techniques including demand planning, inventory control, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and stock replenishment strategies
- Skilled in data collection, analysis skills using tools like Tableau or SQL for supply chain analytics and process improvement initiatives
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment such as forklifts and other materials handling machinery
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while collaborating across departments in a fast-paced environment
