Duties
Companion Services
- Taking client out into the community
- Provide companionship and emotional support to client with developmental disabilities.
- Document care activities accurately while adhering to privacy regulations such as HIPAA
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and patient monitoring practices
- Valid certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts
- Familiarity with dementia care, memory care, hospice care, or Alzheimer’s care is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a commitment to respectful caregiving
- Ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations
