Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Aerial Lineman to join our telecommunications and fiber optic construction team. In this role, you will learn to install, maintain, and repair overhead fiber optic and coaxial cable systems. No prior experience is required—we provide comprehensive on-the-job training for candidates with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn a valuable trade.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist Crew Leads: Help senior linemen string, pull, and secure aerial fiber optic and coaxial cables on utility poles.
- Pole Framing: Attach hardware, strand, guy wires, and anchors to utility poles according to blueprint specifications.
- Ground Support: Prep materials, manage tools, and ensure safety zones are maintained around work vehicles and poles.
- Height Operations: Learn to safely climb utility poles using hooks and operate bucket trucks under supervision.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all OSHA regulations, maintain safe clearances from power lines, and wear proper safety gear.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: None required; 6+ months of general construction or outdoor labor experience is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Driver's License: Valid standard driver's license with a clean driving record (Class A CDL is NOT required).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb heights up to 40 feet, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
