Lead one of the North Fork's premier waterfront dining destinations year-round. The Halyard at Sound View Greenport is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee front-of-house operations, delivering exceptional service while cultivating a positive, high-performing team culture in a beautiful coastal setting.
Position Overview
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the daily operation of The Halyard, including the restaurant, bar, and seasonal beach and pool outlets during the summer months. This leader ensures an outstanding guest experience, develops and mentors the front-of-house team, drives operational excellence, and partners closely with the culinary team to execute exceptional food and beverage service throughout the year.
What You'll Do
- Lead all front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional hospitality and service standards.
- Oversee restaurant, bar, and seasonal beach and pool operations during peak season.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing front-of-house team.
- Create schedules, manage labor costs, and ensure efficient staffing based on business levels.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Engage with guests to build relationships, resolve concerns, and create memorable experiences.
- Partner closely with the culinary leadership to ensure seamless service execution.
- Monitor financial performance, including labor, sales, cost controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.
- Maintain a polished dining environment that reflects The Halyard and Sound View brand standards.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience in an upscale, boutique hotel, or high-volume dining environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, service-first management style.
- Experience developing teams and creating a positive, hospitality-driven culture.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Financial acumen with experience managing labor, scheduling, and restaurant performance metrics.
- Passion for hospitality, food, wine, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
