Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Dental Experience Preferred
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our growing veterinary team in Oceanside, California. Candidates with a strong background in veterinary dentistry are highly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
- Current California RVT license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and patient care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in surgery, general practice or emergency medicine is a plus.
- Experience with dental prophylaxis, dental radiography, anesthesia monitoring, and assisting with dental extractions
- Knowledge of patient care, surgical nursing, and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary hospital while providing exceptional patient care
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
- Monitor anesthesia and provide patient nursing care.
- Perform laboratory testing, radiology, and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Maintain accurate medical records and client communications.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care, dental health, and treatment plans.
- Monitor anesthesia during dental and surgical procedures
- Perform dental cleanings and obtain full-mouth dental radiographs
- Assist veterinarians with dental extractions and advanced procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocol
