Responsibilities
- Safely operate box truck and vans for delivery routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload goods using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Move products within the warehouse using manual transmission vehicles and manual handling practices to ensure proper storage and inventory management.
- Deliver packages directly to customers’ locations, providing excellent customer service through professional communication and timely arrivals.
- Assist with warehouse operations including receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Communicate with team members efficiently throughout the workday.
- Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items to prevent injuries and ensure workplace safety.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving with a focus on route driving efficiency and adherence to schedules.
- Strong warehouse experience including material handling equipment operation such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations, especially for box trucks and heavy vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
- Familiarity with regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe driving practices.
- Competence in using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery updates, and documentation.
