- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care plans.
- Provide care based on established standards, protocols, and procedures.
- Respect each patient as an individual, fostering dignity and positive self-regard.
- Deliver patient and family education tailored to learning needs and readiness.
- Collaborate in discharge planning, incorporating necessary support systems.
- Delegate and supervise nursing interventions appropriately.
- Prioritize patient care effectively, recognizing the need for emergency intervention.
- Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of patient data and interventions.
- Provide timely reports to healthcare team members for continuity of care.
- Promote learning and professional development for self and colleagues.
- Identify and address patient safety risks and opportunities to reduce errors.
- Address ethical issues in patient care as they arise.
- Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy per orders and protocols.
- Assess and manage patient pain levels, documenting responses to medication.
- Minimum Education: AS in Nursing required, BS in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum Work Experience: 3–5 years of Emergency Department experience preferred.
- Minimum Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse with current MA license.
- ACLS upon hire or active BLS card with AHA ACLS within 60 days.
- AHA PALS within six months of hire.
- TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred.
